Go Offshore Radio Sailing at Wynnum!

WMJettyThe Wynnum jetty and race coursesThe Wynnum Manly club has been trialing an open water venue this year as a change from the club's usual water in the harbour at Manly.  Two events have been held and both received favorable reviews from sailors who competed.  Next Sunday another is schedules and invitations are open to all QRYA Affiliated sailors.

So why should you race there?

  • Courses can be set for any wind direction – always good racing.
  • Long fetch (miles and miles) north, south and east means low frequency wind shifts and seas up to 1metre – test your rig settings, your boat speed and course strategy.
  • High elevation with clear view of the start, weather and leeward marks - clean racing with few incidents
  • Wet Launch in the lee -safe
  • International standard courses – good preparation for our sailors to win the World Championships
  • National and International Wind and Wave conditions – improve your skills using B and C rigs in waves.
  • Fast Rescue boat on standby – peace of mind
  • Fun Race Management
  • Local Cafes and Amenities

The club has decided to limit the number of competitors to 15 or less so that each has adequate space near the control area.
